Record highs, Fed minutes, and the FOMO goblin

Record highs, Fed minutes, and the FOMO goblin The S&P 500 just closed at a record high, and somewhere a guy who sold in August is staring at the ceiling. Tuesday's close of 7,818.93 was the index's first record finish since August and its 28th of the year, and the Nasdaq notched another one too. Then today at 2 p.m. ET the Fed releases the minutes from its September meeting, the one where it raised rates to 3.75% to 4.00%. That's basically a three-week-old group chat transcript, and the market is about to read it live and overreact to every adjective. Record highs plus a big headline is peak FOMO goblin season. The goblin says "it only goes up, buy now, ask questions never." My rule: if the main reason for a trade is that everyone else seems to be making money, that's a feeling, not a plan. Decide your size and your exit before 2 p.m., not at 2:03. On TradeShield Core (tradeshieldlabs.com), Shield IQ and the risk checks help you pressure-test an idea before the goblin grabs the keyboard, and paper trading lets you practice minutes-day chaos without risking real money. Then come hang out on TradeShield Network (community.tradeshieldlabs.com), where nobody trades alone and somebody will kindly take your phone away at 2:01. Join us, sign up, and invite the friend who checks futures before brushing their teeth. Spidah, Founder & CEO Not financial advice.
